Your donations are greatly
appreciated! Dear Japanese Cultural Fair Supporter, We are pleased to let you know that the Twenty-sixth anniversary
Japanese Cultural Fair presented by the Santa Cruz Japanese Cultural Fair
Board of Directors in conjunction with the Santa Cruz Sister Cities Committee
went very well. The fair was held at Mission Plaza Park in the City
of Santa Cruz on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Next year's
Fair is planned for June 8, 2013, but it is in question! The fair presents a full day of performances on two outdoor stages and over 40 booths with the arts, crafts, and cuisine of Japan. Performances include San Francisco Taiko Dojo, Koto, traditional folk dance, shakuhachi(bamboo flute), Ikebana, Tea Ceremony, storytelling, Rakugo(special guest from Japan), Kyogen play, martial arts, shamisen, Bonsai, Okinawan dance and much more. For 26 years, the Japanese Cultural Fair of Santa Cruz has provided an opportunity for North Americans to increase their awareness and understanding of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. We believe that through education, entertainment, and exposure to their arts, crafts, cuisine and customs, we can improve mutual understanding among neighbors of the Pacific Rim and enrich our community life here and throughout the United States. With your financial support, we can continue to provide the high level of excellence we have had in the past. You will be recognized for your contribution in our 2013 program and website (www.jcfsantacruz.org). Please click on the "Donate" button found near the top right of most of our web pages, or send a check made out to The Japanese Cultural Fair, P.O. Box 3458, Santa Cruz, CA 95063. We would be happy to provide you with any additional information about
the Santa Cruz Japanese Cultural Fair and invite you to attend the fair. Thank you for your kind consideration. Chieko Yoshikawa |
